MAERSK Announces New Freight Tracking Mobile Application

Maersk Line launched its newly developed mobile application for the management and tracking of its cargoes for live use as of 16 December. With this mobile application, the user; It gains comprehensive information about its cargoes on the road, real-time tracking of their cargo’s whereabouts, management of cargo schedules and features such as destination or document change.

Appearing to be a pioneer in this field, Maersk is preparing to pilot its high technology-based online transportation management system as of January 2017 with DAMCO, a Supply Chain Company in Turkey. As a pilot, container traffic in Turkey will be managed with the support of mobile technologies.

With the application made compatible with mobile devices with Android and iOS operating systems, MAERSK, with its move to transform logistics transportation into a digital platform, both creates a digital environment that can eliminate the use of paper documents and steps into a seamless “logistics and supply chain” that quickly overcomes the problems in the old system.
