Two World Giants “MAERSK” and “Alibaba” Joined Forces
China’s largest e-commerce platform Alibaba and the world’s largest container shipping giant MAERSK announced cooperation agreements. According to the agreement signed between them, Chinese manufacturers trading through Alibaba will now be able to rent containers directly from the internet from ships belonging to Maersk Line, with an account of square meters. With this agreement, it will be easier for Chinese small and medium-sized manufacturers to open up to the world.
In 2010, Alibaba had taken a successful step in its expansion to the world by acquiring “OneTouch” company, which provides online customs and logistics services to medium and small businesses. Now, this alliance of Maersk Line and Alibaba will not only enable Chinese businesses to export their products faster and without intermediaries, but also increase China’s share in the world logistics market.
